New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU)

The town’s art and history museum in the Civic Center on East Main Street, opened in 2015; it holds the collections of the old Forbes Mill history museum.

NUMU grew out of the Museums of Los Gatos, founded in 1965: an art museum on Tait Avenue and a history museum at Forbes Mill. It reopened as NUMU in June 2015 with three times the exhibition space.

It hosts about ten rotating art and history exhibitions a year, plus workshops and classes, and has shown exhibitions on Billy Jones and on the Cats estate.
