Broadway (Los Gatos)

The first residential street in Los Gatos, opened in 1883 through John W. Lyndon’s 1881 subdivision of 48 lots; now a historic district.

Henry D. McCobb bought the land in 1863 and planned a town called Cobbsville, but it passed to John W. Lyndon, who divided it into 48 lots on September 24, 1881, at $125 and up. Broadway was opened on January 5, 1883.

Cottages built in 1887 for Thomas Hayselden still stand, and Lyndon’s own Victorian house stood at 55 Broadway.
